Insurance, Safety & Certifications

At SPS, we want you to have complete confidence and peace of mind when our crews are working in your community.

SPS is fully-insured. Our safety training and compliance programs exceed industry standards. And we actively participate in leading industry and business organizations.

Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Compliance

OSHA was created by the Federal Government to reduce workplace hazards and implement new, or improve existing, safety and health programs. All SPS field employees and managers complete OSHA’s 10-Hour Construction Safety Training. In addition, SPS’s safety policies require mandatory training, including an annual half-day classroom session; regular insurance job-site inspections; and intensive job-site inspections and safety ratings performed by SPS’s safety management team.

SPS requests its insurance company to perform regular job-site inspections. Our safety manager and safety coordinator further enhance the Safety First culture with hundreds of safety inspections annually.

Contractor Licenses and Registrations

Schernecker Property Services is a licensed contractor in Massachusetts (#123615) and Connecticut (#0628957), as well as a registered contractor in Rhode Island (#11451). SPS is certified and registered to conduct business in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Community Associations Institute (CAI)

SPS is an member and sponsor of CAI and its programs. We enthusiastically support CAI’s efforts to advance legislative, managerial, and organizational issues for community associations.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC)

SPS is a member of ABC’s Massachusetts Chapter, the state’s largest construction trade association.

Federal E-Verify Program

SPS participates in the federal government’s E-Verify program, which verifies that all of our employees are eligible to work legally in the United States.

Get the facts — and the sooner the better. If I have one regret, it’s that I wish we had done this work with SPS a long time ago. When you have the right information, making the correct decisions becomes much easier.
